Pipe Coil Technology Limited

Straight length production

Plumbing pipe is generally required in coiled lengths of typically 25 to 250m and in straight lengths of typically 2 to 6m.

Straight lengths are traditionally cut to the finished length at the extrusion line where they are either bundled and packaged immediately in the case of PEX(a), PEX(c) and PB, or they undergo a subsequent curing process prior to be bagged in the case of PEX(b).

Optimising straight length production

For all pipe materials, but especially for PEX(b) pipe which will be handled several times before final packaging, it will usually be more efficient to wind the pipe onto a process drum at the extrusion line and cut to finished straight lengths in a secondary operation.

This eliminates need for labour and packaging at the end of several extrusion lines, enabling all finished product packaging (coils or straights) to be performed in a single location.

What we offer

Equipment offered by Pipe Coil Technology Limited for producing straight lengths from process drums allows straight lengths to be automatically cut, collated and packaged into bags at speeds of up to 60m/min.

The production system includes a pipe straightening system which removes any set in the pipe that has been gained during storage on the process drum.

The system incorporates a powered drum payoff stand with integral straightener, a haul-off, a servo cutter and a collation table.

Optional equipment includes automatic packaging machine and a printer which is integrated into the line to enable printing of bar codes and/or pipe identification text directly onto the pipe.
